There is a possibility that parents whose children attend the DEED after school program may not have to make payments downtown anymore. Guam Education Policy Board Chairperson Joe San Agustin says in speaking with the Superintendent, they could hold school principals more accountable for funding, that's if they decide to allow payments to be made in the schools.

"You hold the principals accountable. You can't be expected to run a school and not be accountable for what goes on in that school," said San Agustin. You may recall, there were several concerns brought to light after a recent audit noted that DEED funds were taken for personal use. GPSS then required parents to make payments downtown.
