The Consolidated Commission on Utilities is meeting this evening and on the agenda is the Guam Power Authority's request to increase the Levelized Energy Adjustment Clause. The LEAC is a means for GPA to adjust its rates for a six-month period in order to recover its cost for fuel.

According to CCU Chairperson Simon Sanchez, Commissioners are expected to approve a 7% increase during their meeting. Initially the agency was seeking a 13% hike, but due to the streetlight payment, that amount was reduced significantly. The CCU is scheduled to meet at 5 o'clock in the GPA conference room in Harmon.
