Just because the base rate won't be going up soon, does not mean the LEAC won't. During Tuesday's Consolidated Commission on Utilities meeting, commissioners are expected to approve a 7% increase to the Levelized Energy Adjustment Clause.

Initially, GPA was seeking a 13% hike, but due to the streetlight payment, that amount was reduced. Once approved it will head to the Public Utilities Commission for a vote but implementation of the additional power increase may not occur until later this year as the PUC isn't scheduled to meet until September.
