Hoping to gain some input from the U.S. Postal Service on its decision to install cluster boxes in villages around the island in lieu of home delivery, the Mayor's Council met with U.S. Postal Service Customer Service Manager, Kevin Brunton, today. Brunton said the decision for the boxes is part of a nationwide standardization process and the Postal Service is now assessing Guam's mail delivery village by village to ensure mistakes made in the last decade no longer continue.

"Some of the things that we are doing is a disaster waiting to happen, some of the things are borderline, but we had to come up with a guideline," Brunton said. The Postal Service could not say how long it will take to make the full transition from home delivery to cluster boxes.
