Today in session senators spent much of the afternoon discussing tint. Bill 163 as introduced by Senator Frank Ishizaki (R) would regulate the amount of tint citizens are allowed to put on their vehicles. The senator's bill would originally allow for 6 inches. Ishizaki stressed that last year alone, 25 people died on the island's roadways. 13 of the cars involved in those traffic fatality had excessive tint.

"56% of our total fatalities, I believe could've been saved and 60% of our total pedestrian fatalities might be alive today, if we had reasonable tint. My bill is only asking for reasonable tint," Ishizaki told his colleagues.

Meanwhile Senator Judi Guthertz introduced an amendment to only regulate tinting on the windshield and not the front driver and passenger windows.
