Oceanview Middle School, after being inspected by the Guam Public School System's Health and Safety Task Force Tuesday evening, failed to properly address the concerns that initially led to the school being closed last week. As such, the school remains closed and classes for Wednesday will not be held.

The inspection started shortly before sundown and ended a couple of hours later. Although the fire hazards were satisfactorily addressed, several other issues linger at the Agat campus, primarily problems with the school's restrooms. Of note was that GPSS safety administrator Bruce Williams tells KUAM News he disagrees with the school being shut down; the issues, he stated, are minor and could be adequately fixed while the school is open.

But the official word from downtown is that due to the failed inspection, there will be no classes for students attending OMS on Wednesday.
