The governor and lieutenant governor have approved the Port Modernization Plan. On Friday, the pair issued an executive order endorsing the plan and its submission to the 29th Guam Legislature. $195 million worth of improvements to seaport facilities is planned, that's to accommodate the importation and exporting of goods during the height of the Guam military buildup and to sustain economic growth beyond the next decade.

Parsons Brinkerhoff International will provide the first draft of the financial feasibility study in mid-June. The study will give direction on how the $195 in improvements under the master plan will be funded.

As of today, 10% of the planned expenditures has been identified.
