While earlier Fiscal Year 2009 budget hearings this week were complicated with the Department of Integrated Services for Individuals with Disabilities director testifying that the governor's budget request was insufficient and that the Department of Mental Health's director not being sure whether or not their budget was sufficient, Senator Eddie Calvo says today's hearing with the Customs and Quarantine Agency went off without a hitch. The Finance & Taxation Committee chairman said, "They're not asking for any increase fairly stable budget, and they've been able to live within their means. So again, it was a budget hearing today that went smoothly."Budget hearings will continue next Monday when the committee hears from the Department of Corrections, the Guam Fire Department, the Department of Youth Affairs and the chief medical examiner beginning at 2pm.
