With the theme of "Where Healing Happens Everyday" lawmakers helped the Guam Memorial Hospital kickoff National Hospital Week this morning with a resolution presentation. On this day back in 1921 Smerica first celebrated its first National Hospital Day.

The keynote speaker for today's event was Dr. Hoa Nguyen, who said, "Truly we're going to work together to try and get accredited in the next year or two and this will improve the quality of care for everyone on island. It's not that the quality is not here, but we just need to put some procedures on paper in order to get accredited."

National Hospital Week continues until May 17.
