The Guam Education Policy Board has interviewed the final two candidates for superintendent of the Guam Public School System. On Saturday evening Guam Community College professor Bunny Sgambelluri, along with Northern Marianas College director of institutional effectiveness Wil Castro went before the board to answer a dozen questions. Castro was formerly the chief planner and an associate superintendent of GPSS.

GEPB chairman Joe San Agustin told KUAM News, "As we were discussing, not deliberating, last night is that the option was offered to consider on Tuesday night to maybe bring the top three and do a second round of interviews. Actually we're looking at asking them how they plan on fixing this and this and this and so forth, and how they plan on operating the school. Because if they don't have a vision, by golly gee, they have no business being a superintendent."

Along with Castro and Sgambelluri, the other applicants for public school superintendent are John Burch, Manny Cruz, Geraldine James, Anthony Leon Guerrero, Eleuterio Mesa and Dr. Aline Yamashita.
