Port Authority of Guam interim general manager Carlos Salas is back on island after attending an industry conference in the mainland. And now that he's back, management's putting the final touches on the agency's master plan. "So we're hoping that this week officially all these things are transmitted to the governor and all the officials of the Legislature," Salas told KUAM News. The plan consists of several upgrades , to include new efficient truck gates valued at $2.5 million, a break bulk storage yard for the upcoming military construction peak, a Customs and agriculture inspection site and the purchase of three used cranes to handle Guam's cargo valued at $7 million apiece - and that's just naming a few.
