It's said that everyone should have their spine aligned in order for their body to function properly. As some of you may have learned in grade school, your brain controls your body and occasionally, your bones move out of place. Local chiropractor Dr. Dennis Borja from Paradise Chiropractor recommends everyone see a chiropractor to keep his or her brain, body and bones functioning properly."Let's just say that the youngest patient I've had is my daughter, she was ten minutes old," he explained. "It would've been earlier, but they were busy cleaning her up after she was born at Sagu Managu. The oldest person I've had was 99 years old, an individual from Illinois who had been adjusted since he was 10 years old. He still place ice hockey and tends to his garden."Dr. Borja says he's seen and treated many athletes. In fact, he once worked for HealthQuest, which was the official chiropractor for the Detroit Lions. He says his job was to adjust professional football players almost daily during spring training and at least once a week during the season. He says athletes are urged to see a chiropractor simply because of the physical activity. "As an athlete, it's like the difference between a Ferrari and a Fiat or a Ferrari and an economy car. With an economy car, you can go a few months with just an oil change but with a high performance vehicle you would have to fine tune it more often just because of what it does," he continued.Dr. Borja says he also sees many people who were injured in vehicular mishaps. He explained, "One of the reasons why people come to chiropractors has to do with motor vehicle accidents, slip and falls. It's one of many types but in particular though is because of the forces involved in getting in a car accident. It's very similar to professional athletes."If you're unable to make it Paradise Chiropractors, not a problem - Dr. Borja does house calls. For more information contact him directly at 689-0783.
