Southern residents may want to get water supplies ready before settling in to relax this weekend. as the US Navy has issued a precautionary boil water notice to its customers that will go into effect at 6pm tonight. Customers in the following areas advised to boil their water before using it: all of Big Navy, Polaris Point, the Naval Base Guam Fuel Division, Delta Wharf, Echo Wharf, the New Apra Housing area, and McCool Elementary/Middle School.

The notice was issued due to a scheduled water outage this evening to conduct work on a 12" valve. Customers are advised to boil their water vigorously for one minute prior to use.

A notice will be issued to lift this boil water notice once results indicate the water is safe for consumption.
