Another son of Guam has died defending our freedom in the war in Iraq. Family and friends of 34-year-old U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Joseph Duenas Gamboa are mourning his loss. His sister, Evelyn, confirmed with KUAM News that Joseph was heading back to his post in Iraq earlier this week when another car passed by and shot a missile into the soldier's vehicle.

Family members say Gamboa only had two more weeks left in his deployment before he was to return home to Germany, where he was stationed with his wife Michelle and their five children.

Nightly rosaries are being said at 127 Chalan Saligao in Astumbo, Dededo, across from Astumbo Elementary School.
