Santa Rita mayor Joseph Wesley and Senator Ben Pangelinan (D) successfully won their case that led to the incinerator contract being voided by the court. The Democrat lawmaker however isn't stopping, he's now going after the issue surrounding Guam Resource Recovery Partners' agreement with the Chamorro Land Trust Commission for a landfill in Guatali or Atantano.

According to Pangelinan, he has asked the attorney general to provide a legal opinion. "We're specifically interested in a couple of legal issues that I think the Guam EPA and other departments and agencies need legal guidance on. And that is does GRRP have a valid lease to use CLTC property for this purpose?"

The lease was signed on the very last day of the Carl Gutierrez administration. Meanwhile Senator Pangelinan also is requesting clarification as to whether GRRP's proposed landfill is located at Guatali or Atantano.
