Executive says GBB will meet challenge of managing Guam's solid waste
The president of Gershman, Brickner & Bratton, Harvey Gershmann, will be the overall officer-in-charge for the operations of Guam's solid waste management. The company on Monday was named as the federal receiver to take over the Government of Guam's compliance with the Ordot Dump consent decree. Gershman stating, "This will be challenging work for all involved and GBB is up to the task. Our selection we believe is a testament of GBB's innovation, leadership, track record and proven ability to make change happen and generate success stories."
The executive additionally stated, "In this assignment GBB is responsible solely to the court but will work closely with the elected officials, Public Works, financial, and other stakeholders of Guam to achieve full compliance with the terms of the consent decree in the most cost-effective and expeditious manner possible." Special principal associate David Manning will serve as GBB's receiver representative, with VP Chace Anderson playing a significant role in the assignment supported by other GBB resources as the project dictates.
The company will review the work already performed by GovGuam and, building upon that work where possible, develop and execute a plan that will provide both the financing and leadership necessary to successfully address these vital services.
