Additional criminal charges were handed down today against Alvin Nash Quinata, who awaits trial. The 24-year-old Umatac man is accused of murdering Un Chong Kim in January 2007. According to court documents, Quinata is charged with aggravated murder, murder, manslaughter, and aggravated assault along with multiple counts of special allegation with possession and use of a deadly weapon in the commission of a felony.

The indictment states that Quinata committed premeditated murder with a knife and a rock. Earlier this week Quinata appeared in court as attorneys told the judge they may be working on a plea agreement. With the new charges, he will have another arraignment hearing.

It's unclear if the March 12 trial date will remain.
