The Guam Election Commission will be meeting this Wednesday to certify democrat B.J. Cruz as the island's next senator. The former Supreme Court chief justice summarily beat Republican Telo Taitague and fellow Democrat Tom Ada, garnering 41.5% of the votes cast. Wednesday's GEC board meeting gets underway at 4 in the afternoon.

Interestingly enough, even though the Democrats will hold the majority they apparently won't take over the leadership roles at the legislature because of a provision in the standing rules.
