The House Subcommittee on Insular Affairs is in Saipan today. The members are holding a public hearing on HR 30-79, which extends U.S. immigration laws and provides the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands with a non-voting delegate to the U.S. House of Representatives. Once the panel is done with the hearing the group will head back to Guam.

Congresswoman Madeleine Bordallo will hold a town hall meeting this Thursday to allow island residents who otherwise weren't on the special invite list for today's formal field oversight hearing at the University of Guam to give input on what they think about the proposed military buildup.

The town hall meeting will be held at the Guam Hilton Resort and Spa at 6pm this Thursday.
