A family's fishing trip in Dededo took a tragic turn on Sunday night. The U.S. Coast Guard has announced that it has found the body of a 35-year-old man reported missing by several of his friends during a trip at Tanguisson Beach. After being hit by a large wave and apparently being swept out into the open ocean, officials were notified.

Family members called 911 at around 7:30pm on Sunday to report that Atni Kasuta could not be found. Search crews with the Coast Guard, the U.S. Navy and the Guam Fire Department conducted rescue operations, eventually discovering the drowned man's body near a cut in the reef at first light.

The man's drowning marks the fifth drowning this year to date, and the second this month.
