Wow - we've become a dynasty. KUAM is now the Chicago Bulls. The New England Patriots. The L.A. Lakers. The Detroit Red Wings. And we're about a third of the way to becoming Bill Russell's Boston Celtics. For the third straight year our little station, operating in a market upon whom Nielsen's holy light doesn't even shine, has been selected as the top news web site by the Radio and Television News Director's Association.
We've now won three straight regional Edward R. Murrow Awards for web site excellence, representing affiliate stations in Guam, Hawaii, Nevada and California. KUAM over the last four years has won a total of six Murrows. We're once again fortunate to be able to stand amongst the best and brightest minds in the broadcast news industry. And we continue to be the gold standard for how the Guam community - both locally and away from the island - gets its news.
As Guam's largest and most visited web site, KUAM.com features the widest array of new media content delivery and distribution services of any online local news operation. In addition to our massive archive of printable news stories and multimedia exhibits, KUAM.com offers full-access search, podcasts, e-mail/mobile alerts, on-demand video, live and archived streaming media, RSS syndication, wireless access, Web 2.0-style APIs and social apps, portable headlines, and desktop access tools. And our constant expansion of newer, more efficient, ways for you to get the information you crave is a constant challenge, but one that we readily and happily accept.
Being told by your peers that you're the best is something that never gets old. But the award is all that much sweeter knowing we've got the constant attention and support of our beloved audiences. Our revolutionary "On Air. Online. On Demand." concept of delivering news was a hit the moment we launched it. So a sincere thanks to you - our valued users - for always relying on us to tell you the day's news. We do enjoy working for you everyday.
So now that we've momentarily paused to pat ourselves on the back, it's back to work...and on to creating the next big thing - again!
