The highest-ranking enlisted man in the U.S. Army Recruiting Command, Command Sergeant Major Harold Blount out of Fort Knox, Kentucky is here on Guam to check out Guam's Army Recruitment Station and its efforts. According to Blount, the local Army Recruitment Program is about 25% more successful than any other place in the mainland often reaching 110-115% of their recruiting goals.Part of this is due to recruitment efforts such as the Recruitment Fair taking place at the Guam Premiere Outlet on February 25 from 10am-4pm. "We're going to have a lot of recruiters out there," he told KUAM News, "we're going to have lot of brochures we're going to have some giveaways we're going to have a little contests and we're just looking for folks to come out and have a good time to try to get a understanding of what today's army is all about and how they can contribute."Sgt. Major Blount says that qualifying recruits can receive up to $40,000 in cash bonuses up to $70,000 in Army college funds, and up to $65,000 in loans.
