The Internet's next big thing in 2006 is without doubt going to be portable video. And at KUAM we're liberating you, giving you the freedom to take your favorite source for Guam news with you. Information can't be imprisoned, accessed solely via the standalone computer, and we've done a lot of work already in supporting multi-platform access to keep you properly informed.

We realize you've got a very busy schedule, and don't always have time to sit through the news. So we're not asking you to change your life to find out what's going on - we just want you to take us along for the ride.

I'm very pleased to announce that we'll be providing a multi-media, multi-device extension to our existing mobile services and RSS feeds, meaning you'll be up to speed on what's going on around you directly on your Video iPod, iRiver, PlayStation Portable, mobile phone, PDA and laptop, as well as your desktop PC. Very soon you'll be able to access free local news content, conveniently downloading our newscasts, major stories, and special productions through our new on-demand video podcast service.

This is the first in a series of components that make up KUAM Broadband, our new high-speed content delivery channel. You'll be able to quickly access the latest Guam headlines and breaking news, and then take it with you for playback anytime, anywhere.

What's more, it's customizable, so you'll be in full control of the action: pause, rewind, or fast forward through our casts or jump ahead anywhere in our rundown and watch your favorite story in the order you see fit. Set your RSS aggregator to download our stuff while you're asleep, out to lunch, or off work. When you're ready, you'll have Guam's top news waiting for you to enjoy at the gym, while on the beach, on a plane, in class, in line at the DMV, at the store, or wherever you might be.

Oh yeah...and it's all free.

And we're not leaving those of you who defer more to our traditional low-bandwidth streaming webcasts behind - we'll still make all of our shows available through our WebCast Archives if you want to use that method. And we'll continue to upload our audio podcasts for those of you not quite ready to make the jump to video just yet. But for you device junkies, we're deliberately rolling KUAM Broadband out just in time for the holiday season - so you can make sure to ask Santa for a portable video player of your own.

Trust me, KUAM Broadband is tremendously cool and will change the way you get local news. You'll wonder how you ever got by without it.

Quite literally, you'll be "seeing" us soon!
