April is Autism Awareness Month both locally and nationally, and in an effort to spread awareness and encourage support for those who are autistic and their families, the Autism Community Together (ACT) gathered at Adelup today for the 2nd Annual ACT Walk/Get Together.

This was just one of several events dedicated to raising awareness about the disease. As a Christian mass was held at St. Jude's Church in Sinajana, and a display was also featured at the Agana Shopping Center.

Autism is a lifelong disability and results in significant impairment of an individual's ability to lean, develop social skills, and understand verbal and nonverbal communication. Approximately 110 people have been diagnosed with autism on Guam.
