Guam Bar Association welcomes Jacob as new president
As the saying goes, out with the old and in with the new. Guam Bar Association past-president Attorney Jay Arriola welcomed the organization's newly elected governing board during its general membership meeting this afternoon. Attorney Arriola reflected on his term, saying the bar made significant strides over the last eight years. "It's on par with, if not better than most, mainland bars, and we intend to maintain our presence on Guam as what I would perceive as the pre-eminent professional organization," he announced.
Taking over Arriola's position is Attorney Rodney Jacob. The new Guam Bar president plans to ensure the Association and its members will continue to foster the real purpose of the organization by maintaining the highest ethical standards and providing good representation to the community in partnership with the courts. He said, "These are heavy responsibilities and we look forward to discharging those responsibilities in our organization with our various committees and also with the courts. The courts have really reached out in partnership with the bar so they can get our input."
Jacobs says he is honored and humbled to be a part of the mission.
