Recount 2004 is over halfway done, with only precincts from the villages of Yigo and Dededo remain to be counted. Late this afternoon the Guam Election Commission finished recounting the votes from the village of Tamuning's precincts.

According to Republican recount observer Joe Mesa, with 36 of 53 precincts counted Republican incumbent senator Joanne Brown continues to lead Democrat incumbent Ben Pangelinan for the 15th and final spot in the 28th Guam Legislature by thirteen votes. Both candidates have picked up a significant number of votes over the course of the recount to date.

Brown has picked up 148 votes while Pangelinan has picked up 135.

Mesa says he believes the recount could be finished by the end of the week.
