Despite the Governor's School Recovery Task Force's efforts to complete a majority of projects that were identified by schools in order to ensure that the health and safety of students would not be compromised at the campuses, among those that have not been completed are repairs to air conditioners. With hundreds of students still being forced to learn in hot classroom settings, the Task Force is now mobilizing itself to specifically identify funds in order to complete the repairs.

Task Force coordinator Jim Underwood says the group is slated to meet tomorrow to discuss what funding sources are available.

In the meantime, miscommunication that has forced Southern High School to go without air conditioning for the past three weeks has been resolved. Underwood says a stop work order was issued because doe did not follow the strategy and sequence for three contracts that were clearly outlined by the Task Force.
