A 23-year-old Barrigada man was arrested, accused of attempted murder. Guam Police Department Criminal Investigation Section Sergeant Bonnie Suba says Julian Aguon is accused of stabbing his first-cousin. Aguon and his cousin were drinking alcohol all day Monday at a home on Manibusan Lane in Barrigada.

Sergeant Suba says late last night the two began arguing about who could drink the most. Julian allegedly got so mad he walked into his home and grabbed a kitchen knife. Police were able to determine that he then walked out to hug his cousin, and instead he stabbed him in the chest. The victim was transported to the Guam Memorial Hospital, where he is listed as being in critical condition.

Sergeant Suba identified the victim as 24-year-old Peter Aguon. As for Julian, he was arrested early this morning and was booked and confined. He faces charges of attempted aggravated murder, aggravated assault, family violence, reckless conduct and possession of a deadly weapon in the commission of a felony.
