Guam Military Buildup may Flop
For more than 2 1/2 years we have heard about the impending move of about 8,000 and their families to Guam from the Japanese island of Okinawa. Many people are aware of the news and welcome the marines to the island.
Many people who are at certain age are aware of the relationship the military have had with the local community in the past and have come out and expressed their opinions openly on the radio. Let's say that in the past the military have been less than good neighbors with the local people. Of course many of those in the business community have said nothing but good things about their arrival. We understand why but still have our apprehension about the move.
