Dare to challenge authority
Letter To The EditorHafa Adai,
Do you agree with the proposed military buildup on Guam?
SPEAK UP!
I CAN'T HEAR YOU!
The long-standing history of the military on Guam IS the best defense against them in a court of law. A complaint in the federal courts in Honolulu, highlighting the abuses and constraints to our rights and freedoms as citizens of America should be documented NOW.
We can not wait decades to realize that we were all prisoners in our own island...as evidenced in 1963 with the lifting of the travel ban in/out of Guam....a military directive, no doubt.
We can not wait until the island that we love and cherrish is pulverized and blown to smitherines because we allowed it to become a depot for nuclear ordinance.
We can not wait generations to find out that toxic wastes and nuclear dumping in and around our ocean waters have become common practice, marked by the cloak of military secrecy.
We can not wait until Tun Juan and Tan Maria start glowing in the dark to realize that something went wrong.
We can not and must not assume that Big Brother will watch our backs....because his long-standing record showed otherwise.
SPEAK UP! I CAN'T HEAR YOU!
Will be in Honolulu September 20 thru September 24 to finalize our court documents for filing. Anyone interested in becoming a part of this historic Fiesta, please send us an email with your comments and support: chamori@excite.com

I don't know what it is you all are after. If it is for the good of Guam and the future of our children, look again. Without the Military, Guam is on it's way to the land of doom. Look at the way it is now. Nobert you've always talked nothing but "Air". You and your fellow leaders are up to no good. Look back at how the economy was back before you all drove us Federal Government Employees and the military away in 2000. It was all down hill after 2000. It's time for a big change that will benefit the future of our children not "YOU". My God! think of the lifes of our children and not your greed for land....
I SEE NO PROBLEMS WITH THE MILITARY ON GUAM. THERE ARE NO EVIDENCE PROVING THAT THE MILITARY IS THE CAUSE OR HAS CAUSE A DOWN FALL ON GUAM. IF YOUR CONCERNS ARE THE INCREASE OF THE MILITARY BUILD UP, THAT CAN BE MORE OF A ADVANTAGE ON GUAM. ITS NOT LIKE GUAM HAS NATURAL RESOURCES THAT ARE VALUABLE AND CAN BE USE TO NEGOTIATE OUR WORTH. CHANGE IS UNCOMFORTABLE, ITS ENIVITABLE BUT WE CAN DEAL WITH IT. THOUGH WE CHERISH OUR LAND AND OUR HERITAGE IT DOES NOT MEAN WE WIL LOOSE SIGHT OF OURSELVES OR OUR OBJECTIVE. LIKEWISE, OUR GOVERNMENT HAS NOT OFFER NOR PROVIDED FOR OUR PEOPLE THAT WOULD GIVE US A BETTER FUTURE.
Were you here before 1944? Did your family recieve the vicious and cruel treatment from the Japanese and let's not mention the numerous fatalities... Chamorrans have sold out themselves to the Japanese, we now cater everything on our island around people who forbid us to practice our traditions and they certainly did not encourage our culture. The military???? You blame the military??? I thank the military for giving my island the opportunity to hold on to our freedom and continue to hold on to our culture. Before you speak on the behalf of a few (who obviously don't recall history), I would like to express the gratitude from the majority. You rape yourself of the respect and dignity that comes along with this island. People from Guam are peaceful people who love our island and you spread your hate and discontent on people who had nothing to do with robbing our culture. Culture is inside you, YOU choose whether it lives or dies! If you do not understand and respect history, we are all destined to repeat it.
I am an Americacn from a small farm in Georgia! I lost my father on Guam in 1944 while he defended the island and the habitants (YOU). I watched my mother struggle to raise 4 children without a father. How dare you disrespect what my father fought for or his memory. You must try to speak with some type of intelligence before advertising your unfounded opinions publicly. I hope you realize that most people find you to be obnoxious and rude, if you are going to take a stand on something, please ensure it has a basis.
