The Guam Medical Association in collaboration with the University of Guam will be hosting a bone marrow drive next month. The group is hoping to gain 300 new donors. Just like the last drive, individuals will not have to draw blood, but will instead use buccal swabs to gather DNA.
UOG Student Government Association president Ben Leon Guerrero says this is a great opportunity to help people all over the world, telling KUAM News, "We know here at the University that the SGA has always tackled issues just related to the students. In my term as president I wanted to change that outlook. Myself, along with my council members, decided to do things outside the box and we would like to go out and help the community."
The drive will take place on December 9 from 9am to 4pm a the Student Center Rotunda at the Mangilao campus.
