After a successful first three years, the University of Guam will continue campus suicide prevention efforts thanks to a recently awarded federally funded grant. College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences Dean Dr. Mary Spencer says for the next three years UOG will be receiving $100,000 annually to provide training and counseling on suicide prevention.
"It's extremely important. The incidences of suicide in this age range on Guam outstretch that of the US mainland so we know it's extremely important. We're very happy that we have collaborative associations with other agencies on Guam to work on this issue," Dr. Spencer said.
