The Committee to Keep Guam Good met with members of the Tumon Rotary Club during its lunchtime meeting to explain their opposition to Prop "A". The ballot initiative would allow for casino gaming at the Guam Greyhound Race Park while building the island's first convention center.
Keep Guam Good spokeswoman Jackie Marati announced, "Proposal 'A' asks the people of Guam to believe in an investment that we have never in our history successfully built and operated. It will be managed and supervised by as of yet unidentified individuals."
In a previous interview Committee for Responsible Gaming chairman E.J. Calvo responded to similar comments made by Marati, saying, "I'm managing director of Guam Greyhound Park, my principal owner and investor is John Baldwin, who has invested a lot in our island and believes in Guam some of our management team includes Greg Rosario, who runs our restaurant; Marty Quichocho, who runs our operations; Annette Cruz, who runs our kennels; and it's a strong local management team."
