The Guam Police Department's Criminal Investigation Division has launched a death investigation after an incident in Dededo resulted in a male civilian being shot dead by a police officer. According to CID's A.V. Camacho, the Dededo Precinct received a call for assistance to remove an individual from a home along Chalan Kotda in the northern village at around 9pm Friday. Camacho, however, could not release specifics as to what led to the officer opening fire.
He does say that the police officers who initially responded to the call are being questioned at the Dededo Precinct. GPD's Forensic Science Division along with Internal Affairs were on the scene also conducting their investigations.
As for the male individual who died as a result of the shooting, his name is not being released as the investigation is still actively underway.
