The Guam Police Department is preparing for residents who use their own form of fireworks to bring in the New Year with a bang.  GPD is reminding residents that it is illegal to discharge firearms, as spokesman Officer Allan Guzman said, "It's illegal to use firearms, homemade canons, and fireworks are illegal. If you get caught, police will confiscate the items and if there are criminal violations, you might get arrested."

 

Residents are also reminded that police will be conducting DUI sobriety checkpoints tonight and tomorrow to prevent motorists from driving under the influence.
