Guam - The Abandoned Vehicles Program remains on hold as the Mayor's Council waits for the Department of Administration to set up the necessary accounts in order to move forward on a contract with Balli Steel. Sinajana Vice-Mayor Robert Hoffman says he expects progress from DOA with in the week.

Balli Steel is now ready to undertake the project, in conjunction with subcontracted recycling companies, since a notice of violation was temporarily lifted by the Guam Environmental Protection Agency last month. The Mayor's Council has been waiting for over a year to begin the project to remove abandoned cars from Guam's villages.
