Guam Police looking for new HQ

The Guam Police Department is looking for a new place to call home, as a memorandum of understanding the agency has with the airport is set to expire in the summer of next year.  Once that expires, the agency will have to find a new place for its headquarters.

Police Chief Paul Suba says work is being done on the design of the new headquarters as well discussions are ongoing about its possible location and a funding source to make it all happen.  "It's hoped that it will be and it's planned that it will be state of the art police headquarters. It'll be historic," said the chief.  "

"We're hoping to see a police museum incorporated into the design and possibly a restaurant so we'll sublease a restaurant, so people can have lunch while they're waiting for their records documents, the officers don't have to leave the facility for lunch or breakfast."

The chief adds they intend to mirror the Los Angeles Police Department and Hawaii Police Department headquarters.  Suba admits he'd like to stay in Tiyan but there have been some discussions to move the headquarters to government property across Home Depot.
