Formal invitations have been extended to both Governor Felix Camacho and Speaker Judi Won Pat from the Senate Armed Services Committee inviting them to testify in front of the body in Washington, DC about Guam's fight to receive federal compensation for war reparations.
The hearing is set for December 2 at 1pm. However, the House Armed Services Committee is holding the hearing and it is subject to change pending final decisions from President Barack Obama on the closure of Guantanamo Bay and future Afghanistan strategy. A copy of the letter is expected forthcoming.
The Speaker's Office has confirmed that she will attend.
Governor Camacho has informed Congresswoman Madeleine Bordallo's office that he will be unable to attend, as he has planned to host the 12th meeting of the Micronesian Chief Executive's Summit, taking place in Guam the same week.
